There is a really great selection of places to eat in Connemara. Covid has posed many challenges for our local eateries but, like troopers, many of our local restaurants have adapted by providing brilliant takeaway options. Below is a short list of some of our favourites, there are so many it would be impossible to list them all so don't hesitate to ask if you don't find quite what you are looking for here, we are always on hand to offer suggestions!!
Steam Cafe, Station House, Clifden, a true stalwart on the scene serving up great coffee and healthy breakfast and lunch options and there is always cake!
The Connemara Hamper is a local deli with wonderful takeaway coffee and lunch options. Perfect for all your picnic needs.
Mitchell's Restaurant serves some of the best seafood in Clifden and has been doing so for years. Make sure to book to avoid disappointment.
Guys Bar is our 'go to' eatery in Clifden. They serve really good bar food, simply and well. The atmosphere is really fantastic in here.
Marconi Restaurant @ Foyles Hotel, located on Clifden Main Street. This is an old favourite of locals and visitors alike.
Darcy Twelve Restaurant on the Square in Clifden serves fantastic seafood in a fantastic location, right in the centre of the action!
Out of Town
The Sea Hare, 'Real Slow Food'. Run by the boundless energy of Sinead and Pippa and located on the pier at Cleggan village. If you're popping out to Inishbofin for the day, this is the perfect place to stop off on your way out...or in!
Fado The best pizza you're going to eat on the Western Seaboard, this is not to be missed.

O'Dowd's Seafood Bar and Restaurant, Roundstone. A trip to Connemara is not complete without a visit to O'Dowds, whether it be for a pint on the wall or to taste some of their world famous seafood.
